Time Requirements - Ultrasound

The average abdominal ultrasound and biopsy procedure lasts about 1 ½ hours from the time the probe is first applied to the patient to the time the biopsy procedure is finished. Echocardiograms require approx. 1 hour with the patient to collect the images and another hour without the patient to take measurements and analyze the information.

Time Requirements - Endoscopy

Most endoscopy procedures require about 1 ½ hours of anesthesia time to perform. Colonoscopies usually require less time, cystoscopies and rhinoscopies tend to be longer, often requiring two hours of scope time.
